Apartment Matorral is situated in the south of Forteventura in Morro Jable.
Morro Jable is a locality belonging to the municipality of Pájara,on the island of Fuerteventura, Canary Islands, Spain. With around 7,000 inhabitants as of 2020, it is the most populated settlement in the municipality. It was founded by Cirilo López Umpiérrez, who reportedly built the first housing in 1899.
Fuerteventura is the second largest island of the canary islands, but from a geological standpoint, it is the oldest. This volcanic creation can also be seen all over Fuerteventura and its nature.
The island’s name is a compound word formed by the Spanish words for “strong” (fuerte) and “fortune” (ventura). Traditionally, Fuerteventura’s name has been regarded as a reference to the strong winds around the island and the resulting danger to nautical adventurers. However, it might have referred instead (or also) to wealth, luck, or destiny.
Morro Jable can be reached in a few different ways.
Most of our guests arrive via plane and then travel via rentals to us.
Another way is the ferry directly to the harbor in Morro Jable. From there it is not far from us.
